At Landworks of WNC, our mission is to help clients better utilize their land through thoughtful design and expert implementation. We believe land is one of our most valuable resources, and every improvement should have a purpose. By understanding each property's natural features, we create landscapes that are functional, sustainable, and built to be enjoyed for years to come.

What separates us is our combination of education and experience. Our team holds degrees in both Landscape Architecture and Horticulture and brings more than 40 years of combined industry experience to every project.

From the first conversation to ongoing landscape care, our process is simple: Consult. Design. Install. Maintain. Every project begins with a plan because the right design is the foundation for a landscape that works with your land and supports your vision.

Meet the Owners

Bernie Hampton

Owner - operator

At Landworks of WNC, LLC., Bernie brings a unique approach to the landscape field, rooted in both experience and family values. Based in Waynesville, North Carolina, he lives and works alongside his family to help create more enjoyable, functional outdoor spaces for the surrounding community.

From the classroom, the office and the field, Bernie has helped deliver thoughtful designs and well-executed installation projects for 30 years across 3 southern states. His design and management work, reflect a balance of creative vision and practical construction knowledge from concept to completion.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University, one of the nation's top design schools and continues to apply that foundation to every project with pride, precision and purpose.

In addition to his professional work, Bernie also finds purpose in teaching the next generation the truths and beauty found in landscaping; instilling values of stewardship, integrity, and care for God's creation.

At Landworks of WNC, our mission is simple: to deliver on design solutions that creatively solve problems and bring enjoyment to everyday living—built with experience, guided by purpose, and grounded in care for both people and place.

Luke McCracken

owner

At Landworks of WNC, LLC, Luke brings decades of experience in horticulture and landscaping. He began his career working at a golf course throughout high school and college before going on to oversee a multi-million-dollar landscape design and installation company.

Luke holds an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Horticulture from Haywood Community College. After graduating, he was invited to return to the college to teach a Landscape Installation course and later served on the college's Entrepreneurship Board.

In addition to his extensive experience in horticulture,

Luke has also worked in the fast-food and medical small-business industries, giving him a diverse professional background and a strong understanding of business operations.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, grilling, and smoking barbecue, collecting coins, watching sports, and volunteering at his church.
